Matrix Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company that has developed the means to create three-dimensional integrated circuits using standard manufacturing techniques and materials. The resulting memory is expected to be cheaper than both mask ROM and flash memory at similar or greater capacities. The initial market for this product will be memory cards for portable electronic devices such as portable game devices, PDAs, mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, and many more.
